Rezumat

Abstract

The IPv4 protocol requires that any IP address have two components: the network address and the station address within that network. A 32-bit string called a network mask is used to determine the network address. 32 valid network masks can be defined. For didactic purposes, these masks can be generated manually, which means high time consumption. This paper presents an IPv4 mask generator written in the C programming language, which determines all valid IPv4 masks.
