Rezumat: Tribologia, studiind procesele de frecare si uzare a materialelor, atrage atentia specialistilor ca urmare a crizei energetice mondiale si a necesitatii utilizarii rationale a resurselor naturale si a materialelor.In lucrare sunt prezentate, succint, programe tribologice de cercetare – dezvoltare initiate de state puternic industrializate. Autorul propune noi programe tribologice de cercetare-dezvoltare cu implicatii economice directe.

Abstract: Tribology, the study of friction and wear of materials, has achieved a new interest because of the need for energy and materials conservation. In the paper there are presented, briefly, R&D tribological programmes initiated by highly industrialized states. The author proposes new R&D tribological programmes with direct economic implications.
