Evolutii tehnologice în sprijinul e-Learning

Rezumat: Tehnologiile informatice si de comunicare (Information Communication Technology - ICT) reprezinta cel mai eficient mijloc prin care se pot dezvolta instruirea de baza si competentele în diverse domenii necesare într-o economie globala, bazata pe cunoastere. În acest context, conceperea, dezvoltarea si implementarea sistemelor e-Learning utilizând cele mai noi tehnologii este considerata o strategie utila în transformarea si modernizarea sistemului educational în vederea asigurarii calitatii procesului de instruire necesar integrarii României în Uniunea Europeana. Tehnologiile moderne fac posibila construirea de sisteme e-Learning performante formate din ansamble de servere puternice, cu sisteme de operare multasking instalate în cluster si sisteme de gestiune a bazelor de date. Arhitectura de sistem este una redundanta, cu sistem de monitoring de parametri si performanta capabila sa deserveasca un mare numar de utilizatori simultan si concurent. Folosind astfel de ansamble de servere este posibila dezvoltarea de sisteme de învatare la distanta, care ofera unui numar foarte mare de oameni maturi posibilitatea de a studia simultan, fiecare acolo unde se afla si în timpul disponibil, fezabil din punct de vedere economic. Universitatile moderne îsi asumaresponsabilitatea introducerii noilor tehnologii în procesul educational si adopta metodele de învatare bazate pe acestea, mai eficient decât traditional. Practic, pentru a fi performanta, orice institutie de învatamânt superior trebuie sa se înscrie pe aceasta directie.

Abstract: Information Communication Technology (ICT) represents the most efficient way to develop the basic training and the abilities in different fields of activity in a todays knowledge based economy. Taking these facts into account, conceiving, developing and implementing e-Learning systems using the latest technologies is considered a usefull strategy for changing and modernising the educational system in order to ensure the tuition process quality required for Romania’s integration to the European Union. Modern technologies enables designing performant e-Learning systems made of groups of powerfull clustered servers running multitasking operating systems and performant database management systems. The systems architecture is a redundant one having a parameter monitoring module, being able to provide service to a great number of concurent users, simoultaneously. By using such server groups it is posible to develop distance learning systems that offer to a great number of mature people the possibility to study, each of them being in a different place and at a different time, feasible from the economic point of view. Modern universities, must assume the responsibility to introduce new technologies in the educational process and must adopt learning methods based on the new tchnologies that are more efficient than the traditional ones. In other words, in order to be competitive, any university must take these technologies into account.
