Abstract: In this paper, an attempt at summarizing the recent development in the field of the reconfiguration of the machine tool workholders is made. Flexible workholding strategies are sistematized and few are analyzed and exemplified: modular and non-modular reconfigurable fixtures, programable and inteligent workholdings
