Abstract: Modifying continuously the geometric compression ratio during engine operation, variation of the maximum value of gas pressure in the cylinder and forces acting on crank mechanism is obvious. To determine the stress on motor mechanism in this case will be considered maximum values of forces that occur when the engine is running with the maximum value of geometric compression ratio. This article will present the study stress achieved by finite element method for main engine component with slave-valve distribution and rotating cylinder jacket – MDR-2, when it would work with 10,2:1 compression ratio (the maximum value set by control mechanism of compression ratio). Thus, after determining the magnitudes of forces for successive positions of motor mechanism (the angle of the crankshaft rotation), using Ansys software will analyze the strain distribution on rotating cylinder jacket.

Keywords: rotating cylinder jacket, stresses, deformations.
